According to the nationwide public security summer night patrol and prevention action plan, from August 9 to 11, the anti narcotics organization in Xiamen conducted the second round of concentrated and unified actions, launching a vigorous crackdown on drug-related illegal activities.
Mobile checkpoints were set up on major roads, and for the first time, a "dual check" for both alcohol and drugs was performed on passing vehicles to prevent drug users from causing accidents and to ensure road traffic safety and order.

This drugdriving inspection is a new approach adopted by the Xiamen police based on the features of the Weimu portable mass spectrometry device (Spectrum Guard MS100). The device allows for drug detection by swabbing key items such as passengers' mobile phones, vehicle steering wheels, and door handles, enabling the determination of drug use or involvement within one minute.

The Spectrum Guard MS100's drugdriving detection primarily relies on onsite mass spectrometry technology. When a suspect comes into contact with drug substances, tiny, invisible drug particles adhere to their skin. When the person touches items such as a phone, steering wheel, or door handle, a small amount of drug particles transfers to these objects. The swab collects these chemically stable drug particles, which can then be accurately identified by the highly sensitive and highresolution onsite mass spectrometry equipment.

The Spectrum Guard MS100 is compact and can be moved with one hand; it features a builtin battery and can also be connected to a vehicle power source, making it convenient for use at temporary or mobile checkpoints.
